"Instructions for living a life: Pay attention. Be astonished. Tell about it." - Mary Oliver
Decision-making is an inevitable and daily part of human life. From what to have for lunch or when to follow a hunch to whether we stay or go, move quickly or take it slow, our daily routine is filled with choices. As choices abound, the selection process can feel tricky, and some good old- fashioned advice is a modern day commodity. What an immeasurable resource it would be if “winter, spring, summer, or fall, all you have to do is call” and the wisdom of the ages answered: “I’ll be there – you’ve got a friend.” Curriculum AUM responds to our call on matters both big and small. It will provide a trustworthy daily guide for a four element exploration in the Mind, Body and the ephemeral quest, turning the hands of time, north- south- east and west – S.ending P.eace A.nd C.ompassion E.verywhere – to help us feel and look our best.
Dialogue, Awareness, Fitness & Healing?
How we action our stance and model our stature offers a profound portal to who we are at our deepest level- yet, so much of this conversation happens beneath our conscious radar. And while, focus and concentration are keystone elements in evolutionary pursuits, it would be impossible to track all the nuances in our exchanges without losing sight of the larger picture.
Practice mindfulness in daily doses of down to earth awakenings. Evolutionary ascension takes time. Based in a method for wholeness, Curriculum AUM's Mind + Body Dialogue, Awareness, Fitness and Healing exercises map out a course of action that bridges the gap between relaxation and alertness.
Begin the conversation. Patterned movements relay our personalities, from subtle mannerisms to hallmark gestures - our bodies talk with equal conviction as our spoken words. Our Mind+Body Dialogue reads like a stenographer's transcriptions of the moment-by-moment interplay of our state of being.
Observe the exchange. Reality expands and contracts. Unconscious signals are so ingrained we may not even recognize the messages we give and receive as we interact in the day-to-day. As if chapters were missing in an antique publication, discovering the hidden pages would be like finding hidden treasures.
Open the pathways. How is it that our heart beats when it feels broken and our legs walk even when they feel stuck? Isn't it amazing how we get up after a fall and take a deep breath even when life hurts? Without even trying we're already stronger than we know. Get good at life, build Mind+Body Fitness.
Share the love. Bow to the forces of nature (L.aw O.f V.astness E.xpressing). To facilitate a reunion of the most profound proportions -- sanction space for sacred reflection. Thread meaningful themes into the day-to-day details and pave the way for action-oriented Mind+Body Healing.
Why "Mind the Body?"
"Love is our true destiny. We do not find the meaning of life by ourselves alone -- we find it with another." - Thomas Merton
"Mind the Body" to discover magic, explore the mystery and uncover the fullness of our individual and collective potential. Through the eyes of goodness or what we call the “love lens”, get a clear perspective on the inner and outer aspects of Self. Learn to transition between Zoom in and Zoom out, penetrate stuck points and pioneer pathways between opposite of all sorts. Take a journey home within to embody wisdom, personify compassion and master grace as a way of life.
So many of the answers we long to know already exist in our hearts. The challenge is to get quiet enough to really hear our true voice. We are deliberate beings moving in space as an electromagnetic phenomenon. Become the omniscient narrator to the whole story. Watch the theater of consciousness like a virtual reality. Listen attentively to all the subjects within. Get to know the main players, reunite with long lost friends and forgive the shadowy saboteurs. Be grateful for even the guards -- they're on duty for a reason -- and, until they receive new orders they'll continue to hold vigil.
Every cell has a mission. Every muscle remembers. Every belief vibrates. There is more than one pulse to explore and limitless pathways to investigate. Begin the journey. Become intimately acquainted with what it feels like to be alive. Linger in the spaces between old cravings to carve out new space for stillness. Sit there, breathe and invite emptiness.
It takes stamina, lightness and agility to appreciate the powerful complexities of the Mind + Body connection. Attitudinal dispositions shift like ticks in the stock market montage as each thought, emotion and intention manifests in an outward projection. Feelings, sensations and impulses sweep across the fascial matrix leaving traces of sensations to embed in distant corridors. It is our duty to access the expanse, travel the entrails and breath life into our daily consciousness.
To "Mind the Body", consider themes and details as partners in an intimate dance, in the same way Kahlil Gibran, the author of the Prophet, describes Love: “But let there be spaces in your togetherness and let the winds of the heavens dance between you. Love one another but make not a bond of love: let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls.” To invoke the felt sense, explore the moving sea between the shores of the Mind + Body and come to know the “collective force” of the Soul.
