"Enliven the Hands"
When inner and outer r
ove, the world rests gently in the palm of our hands.
Considered as conduits for power, the hands play an instrumental role in conducting the mind body orchestra. Our hands are our main points of contact with the world. In the West, it is customary to introduce our Self with a handshake whereas in the East hands are joined at the heart with a humble nod.
We touch the surface and stir the depths with every hands on experience. Whether from the head or the heart, our expression plays out through our chosen craft. From hundreds of ancient mudras to zillions of archetypal gestures our hands make words and deeds come alive with feeling.
For many years fingerprinting was considered to be a scientific means for proving our uniqueness while palmists have believed this to be true since the beginning of time. Designed for manual labor, our hands are gigantic computers wired with thousands of nerve endings to get the job done. In fact the word manifestation comes from the Latin word Manus, meaning hands. As hand expert Jacob Bronowski declares, “The hand is the cutting edge of the mind. “ and therefore the one who pens the biography.
