“I knew, of course, that trees and plants had roots, stems, bark, branches and foliage that reached up toward the light. But I was coming to realize that the real magician was light itself.” - Edward Steichen
Faculty 3: Meta- Map
Root Chakra StemsNow, move up the leg to where the ball and socket meet… (f3) What would it feel like to breath the hip joint right into the space between the ball and the socket? S.implify P.olarities A.nd C.ontract/E.xpand to experience what historian G. M. Trevelyan believed, “I have two doctors, my left leg and my right.” Zoom in to scan the balls of the femur. Inhale and imagine pulling the top of the hip socket upward to amplify a feeling of space. Now, exhale and push the ball of the femur deep into the hollow expanse. Inhale create space, exhale explore depth. Repeat this breath cycle 5-10 times and label it as “Individuating the Legs (from the Hips)”. Like Mood Lighting –the meta-map stimulates energetic connections in our intrinsic environment to MELT undue tension in the extrinsic counterparts: M.arker Point: Balls of Femurs E.nergy Connection: Magnetic Pearls L.ines: End Point of Root Stem. Also, Faculty 3 introduces “Frame Lines” or extrinsic “perception” lines that govern proprioceptive boundaries in the arms and legs. Frame lines refer to medial and lateral edges only, for example:
- Medial Frame Line of the Leg: Connect a line from the side of the big toe (hallux) to the inner anklebone (medial malleolus) to the inner knee (medial condyle of the tibia) to the inner groin (lesser trochanter of the femur)
- Lateral Frame Line of the Leg: Connect a line from the side of the baby toe (fifth metatarsophalangeal joint) to the outer ankle bone (lateral malleolus) to the outer knee (lateral condyle of the tibia) to the outer hip (greater trochanter of the femur).
